The Ministry of Health and Social Services urged immediate action, recalling that this is a highly contagious skin disease caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei mite.

It called on the population to avoid person-to-person contact, especially with those infected, the exchange of clothing, bed linen, and borrowed towels.

The Ministry disclosed the symptoms caused by the infection and insisted that the population go under individual care and go to the doctor at the least possible discomfort.

Scabies causes very itchy lesions on the skin, treatment is with topical medications and, in rare cases, oral drugs are used.
