‘My embrace and my wishes of happiness to our brother Raul Castro, commander and historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, great statesman and fighter who is 93 years old today,’ the head of State wrote on his X profile. ‘An admirable life in defense of the Cuban Revolution.’
An admirable life in defense of the dignity of the Cuban people and Latin American unity, he noted.
Raul accumulates a long service record of more than 70 years in the forging and defense of the Cuban Revolution and other peoples of the world, which began at a very young age at the University of Havana, where he stood out for his rebellious and patriotic spirit.
He participated in the assault on the Moncada Barracks in 1953, in the Granma landing, in the struggle in Sierra Maestra and in every transcendental event of the Cuban revolutionary process, where he shone as minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces for nearly 50 years.
