The works are taking place in the locality of Corúa 5, in the province of Holguín, in the eastern part of Cuba.
The facility, which should be installed before the end of this year, will be equipped with technology from China.
According to the project, 42,000 solar panels will be installed on 20 of the 32 hectares over which the installation will be extended, as explained to Granma newspaper by Renier Gómez, in charge of operations for the provincial electric company.
The executive said that this is one of the first parks with these characteristics to be built in the country, to help reduce the consumption of imported fuels through the use of solar energy to generate electricity.
