On the celebration of the 77th anniversary of this non-government organization, the members of the over 140 societies, foundations and individual associate members called for the unity of the international community to stop the massacre that has claimed the lives of over 35,000 people in the Gaza Strip.

In that regard, the Deputy Chair of the National Association of Economists and Accountants (ANEC) and hero of the Republic of Cuba, Ramon Labañino, urged progressive forces to work to contain the escalation of war driven by the centers of hegemonic power in the face of the world’s advance towards multipolarity.

Likewise, the president of Casa de las Americas, Abel Prieto, after recognizing the work of the UNHCR in favor of the defense and promotion of the principles of the United Nations, expressed the need to increase work in social media in order to combat the fascist ideological offensive. At the meeting, held in the Cuban Pavilion in the capital, the president of the UNCA, Norma Goicochea, recalled that the organization she heads was the first of its kind created in Latin America and the Caribbean, and maintains as a principle the defense and promotion of peace, development, human rights, cooperation and international solidarity.

He affirmed that on Cuba there is a vibrant, committed, critical, open civil society with a universal projection, in line with the Marti principle Homeland is Humanity.
