Through a press release, the two foreign ministers met in Beijing, the Chinese capital, and stressed the need to move forward and strengthen the existing cooperation and implement the agreements reached during President Bashar Al-Assad’s visit to the People’s Republic of China in September last year.
They also addressed the current events in the world, especially in the Gaza Strip, and stressed the need to stop the Israeli war immediately and unconditionally against this coastal enclave.
The head of Syrian diplomacy expressed his country’s strong support for China’s causes concerning Taiwan, Hong Kong and Xining, and its firm commitment to the principle of one China.
For his part, Wang Yi reaffirmed Beijing’s firm support for Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and legitimate right to recover its occupied lands in the Golan, as well as its support for the fight against the scourge of terrorism.
The Chinese foreign minister urged the U.S. to stop plundering the wealth of the Syrian people and lift the illegal unilateral measures that undermine the development and welfare of the world’s people.
The heroic steadfastness under the leadership of President Al-Assad and his perceptive vision as a great leader will lead Syria to overcome all difficulties, the Chinese minister said.
