When meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mahdi Saafari in Kazakhstan, within the context of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Wang assured that both countries will continue to strengthen their relations to safeguard common interests.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China reported that its Foreign Minister once again expressed condolences for the unfortunate death of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and those accompanying him in the crashed helicopter.

This unfortunate incident shocked the world. Iran has lost an outstanding leader, and China has lost a good friend and partner. President Xi Jinping has sent a message of condolences to the Iranian leader. China firmly supports its Iranian friends, the Chinese minister stated.

He added that under the leadership of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Iranian government and people will turn sorrow into strength, and unswervingly advance the set strategy to maintain the country’s stable development.
