Putin: Russian-Chinese cooperation is not aimed at third parties

Moscow, May 16 (Prensa Latina) Cooperation between Russia and China does not target third countries, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin when meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in Beijing.

“The fact that relations between Russia and China do not depend on the situation nor are they directed against anyone is of fundamental importance. Our cooperation in global affairs constitutes one of the main factors of stabilization in the international arena,” the Russian leader emphasized.

Russia and China together defend the principles of justice and a democratic international architecture that reflects the multipolar reality and an order based on international law. Russia and China successfully interact in the UN, BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the G20, trying to harmonize integration processes in the Eurasian space, combining the potential of the Eurasian Economic Union and the initiative of the Belt and Road, the Russian president said.

Putin expressed his hope that this current visit will give additional impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation. “I am very glad to come to China and meet you,” Putin told Xi.

The Russian president pointed out that Moscow and Beijing are consistently developing bilateral relations, comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction.

The Russian leader recalled that 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Moscow and Beijing.
