In an interview with journalist and writer Ignacio Ramonet, the president addressed issues of national and international interest, among them the lessons learned after the Covid-19 pandemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
The Cuban president emphasized that the first lesson learned in Cuba during the pandemic was the need to have the capacity to design an integral work program or a strategy to confront Covid-19, involving all state and social institutions and the non-state sector of the economy.
The second thing -he added- was the need of international solidarity, manifested in the sending of Cuban medical brigades to over 46 countries, many of them considered the epicenter of the disease at that time.
Díaz-Canel pointed out that Cuba faced Covid-19, in the midst of the intensified economic, commercial and financial blockade by the United States and included in the unilateral list of countries sponsoring terrorism.
