According to Bolat, Türkiye will follow the May 2 decision to stop trade with Israel until an immediate ceasefire in Gaza is declared and humanitarian aid is delivered to the region without hindrance.

Speaking at a meeting of the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly broadcast by TRT Haber television, Bolat stated that Türkiye describes the conflict unleashed by the Israeli regime against the Palestinian people as genocide.

On Monday, Türkiye joined South Africa in its complaint presented at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, whose panel called on Israel to avoid actions against the population of the Gaza Strip that could be described as genocide.

According to Palestinian sources, Israeli forces have launched, since October 7, 2023, thousands of air bombardments in the Gaza Strip, leaving 188,000 victims in deaths, wounded, or missing persons.
