El Salvador’s relations with China highlighted

San Salvador, Apr 22 (Prensa Latina) The relationship between the People's Republic of China and El Salvador is a historical milestone in developing our country's social, economic, political, and cultural progress, an expert indicated on Monday.

David Hernández, PhD and Master in Public Relations from the Universities of Hannover and Berlin, addresses the issue in an article published by Diario El Salvador this Monday, “China-ES Relationship: horizons of progress,” in which he highlights the ties between the two nations.

The El Salvador and Latin America rapprochement with China has increased after the hegemonic crisis that has hit the United States and its allies since 2008 and the advance of the Chinese economy, which has become the most significant one in the world, Hernández said.

The proximity with China is part of the insubordination process of the global South that contributes to the collapse of the unipolar world dominated by Washington, he said.

The expert pointed out the significance of the “Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) or New Silk Road Project,” which provides new directions for developing economic cooperation between China, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Hernández spoke of several cooperation processes in El Salvador, “a synonym of progress and modernization,” resulting from a 500 million dollar non-repayable cooperation in the framework of South-South cooperation.

The People’s Republic of China, he said, is a strategic ally for El Salvador; its disinterested support, free of political or ideological ties, and non-repayable cooperation are significant in different projects of development, trade, and investment.
