In view of that goal, the executive told Prensa Latina the expectations of competing in the event under the five rings, scheduled for July 26 to August 11, with a delegation of between 70 and 90 athletes.

Disciplines such as boxing, wrestling, athletics, shooting, canoeing, judo and taekwondo stand out for the possibilities of bringing medals to Cuba, which since the Munich 1972 Games has always been among the top 20 in the table, with the 14th place occupied in Tokyo-2020 out of more than 200 participating nations.

So far we have 35 qualified athletes, a list that evolves in tune with the different qualiying events, Venegas, who is currently leading an Inder delegation with an extensive agenda in France and Spain, explained.

According to the executive, the progress of the athletes’ preparation for Paris-2024 can be classified as successful, either in the training bases on Cuban soil or abroad.
