Science and technology in function for the DPRK development

Pyongyang, Apr 22 (Prensa Latina) The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will hold from next Friday the 37th National Science and Technology Festival as part of efforts to boost the economy, the state news agency ACNC reported today.

The festival will be focused on promoting the achievement of the 12 major economic and social goals set by the Workers’ Party and the State to ensure the implementation of the 20×10 policy, considered a gigantic revolution for what it will imply in the modernization of local industries.

Representatives of entities directly or indirectly related to the development of science and technology, experts, innovators, functionaries, and outstanding workers in the provincial festivals will participate in the exhibitions and debates.

Hosted at the state-of-the-art Palace of Science and Technology, the Festival will also provide space for dozens of workshops on metallurgy, chemistry, electricity, machinery, light industry, and other key areas for the development of the economy.

Subject to strict UN sanctions because of its nuclear program, the DPRK is committed to its autonomy in science, technology, and economy in general, as an indispensable premise for sustainable development and the preservation of national sovereignty. jrr/jav/mem/asg
