Cubans stranded in Haiti are already in Cap Haitien airport, as conclusion of the first operation for their return to Cuba, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez posted on X, adding that the first return to Cuba will begin shortly.

Bruno Rodríguez unfolded about the onset of the first phase of the operation for the return of Cubans in Haiti, who traveled in a bus caravan from Port-au-Prince to the city of Cap-Haïtien, northern region of the country.

The operation is being coordinated by Cuban authorities, ministries, the Cuban Embassy in Haiti, and is permanently accompanied by officials of the diplomatic mission.

According to MINREX, the return is being conducted safely and without any incident, and the second phase of the operation is being rolled out from Cap Haitien airport.
