The OCHA representation in Kabul detailed that the heavy rains registered from April 10 to 16 left 35 dead and 47 injured, while 46 families were displaced.
The report also shows that the most affected provinces with fatalities were Badghis, Farah, Helmand, Kabul, Kandahar, Laghman, Nangahar, Parwan and Uruzgan.
More than 930 houses were destroyed or damaged, along with some 25,779 hectares of agricultural land; and at least 470 heads of livestock were lost.
OCHA emphasized that during the next week a new wave of rains is expected in the central, south, southeast and southwest regions of the country, with up to 30 millimeters of rainfall per day.
These volumes are worrisome because water reserves are full to capacity, so new floods can be anticipated.
