Recently, the visit of the developer of the China Latin American Industrial Park (PICLA) to this region allowed entities such as the University of Camagüey to take a look at the potential offered by China’s project that focuses on fields for industrial and economic development.
On Facebook, the University of Camagüey posted “the agreement signed includes actions such as the exchange of specialists and students for the development of programs, conferences, scientific research and undergraduate and graduate studies.”
The post itself on Facebook assures “it has been a historic day for Camagüey and China, we are taking a step towards the present and the future, thinking of a large-scale assembly industrial park in the province,” according to statements by Quiacming Huang, president of Picla.
This is not the first time that the university founded by the Cuban Revolution, in 1967, looks to China, since in November 2023, Cuban personnel attended the opening of the Hebei Artificial Intelligence Institute.
The internationalization route is a priority for the UC, which has projects with counterparts from different continents and where countries such as Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Belgium and even the United States stand out.
