At a consultative ministerial meeting, the head of the Lebanese Government stressed the urgency of breaking the deadlock that affects all state institutions and preserving the country’s stability.

In the presence of several ministers, Mikati noted the national and social responsibility of the incumbent cabinet; and in this regard, he said, “We don’t seek political luxury and we don’t have a passion for power”.

In his assessment, Lebanon must have a unified stance on the Syrian refugee issue and its impact on all aspects of the national, economic, social, security and sovereignty reality before the international community.

According to Mikati, this week Lebanon went through security events that might have had more serious consequences if it were not for the efforts by the army and security forces, the seriousness of the investigations, the wisdom of the leaders and the references, as well as the calls for restraint, prudence and conscience.
