Inaugurated on April 22, 1972, the Lenin Park, on the outskirts of Havana, gives the Cuban capital a touch of distinction in nature recreation.

The Lenin Park is a scenario for nature tourism that, after five decades, is getting its splendor back.

Conceived by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro (1926-2016), and promoted by heroine Celia Sánchez (1920-1980), the emblematic space motivates local and foreign travelers.

The inauguration of the park coincided with the birthday of Russian leader Vladimir Ilyich Lenin on April 22, 1870.

The administrative personnel of the Park commented that the facility continues to exhibit its 765 open hectares of nature and forest, with 300,000 visitors in the first quarter of 2018, a date they set as an example.

The recreational center was renovated that year, and its plans and programs continue.

In addition to the botanical area, the Lenin Park offers 11 restaurants, 14 coffee shops, a theme park named “Mariposa” (Butterfly), an ice cream factory with a cafeteria, a rodeo stadium, an aquarium, an amphitheater, a garden of poets, a tea house, and other facilities that were restored in 2018.
