The forecast was reaffirmed in April by the Colorado State University, in the United States, and forecasts a much higher than average probability of major hurricanes making landfall along the continental US coast and in the Caribbean.
According to the report, as the planet warms, the impact of hurricanes becomes more dangerous, and global sea levels are rising as well.
“A rise of just five centimeters can make a dramatic difference in how far inland a hurricane’s storm surge can reach,” the text stated.
