Former president regrets Argentine government’s submission to the U.S

Buenos Aires, Apr 5 (Prensa Latina) Former Argentine President Alberto Fernandez on Friday deplored the submission of Javier Milei's government to the United States and warned about the provocations to other countries in the region.

Today, Milei announced the implementation of a new foreign policy doctrine, during an act attended by the head of the US Southern Command, Laura Richardson, in which a Hercules C-130 military transport plane donation was made official.

On Thursday, Milei traveled to the southern city of Ushuaia to meet with Richardson and praised the significance of an Integrated Naval Base of both countries in Tierra del Fuego, which he referred to as “a great logistic center that will constitute the closest port of development to Antarctica”.

On X, Fernandez stated that “an Argentine President talking about territorial expansions, disguised as a military man together with an authority of the United States Army, fills us with shame as a nation”.

Milei made an unnecessary speech that expresses Argentina’s submission. His words are also a provocation to our sister neighboring nations and to all the countries with whom we have strong commercial and cultural ties, Fernández stated.

I fear that the President of Argentina did not take note of the end of the Cold War or of the geopolitics of today’s world. His servility is humiliating. I believe that nobody asked him for so much. Not even the US authorities, he concluded.
