Massive events in Syria for International Al-Quds Day

Damascus, April 5 (Prensa Latina) Military parades and popular events were held today in several Syrian provinces to commemorate the International Day of Al-Quds (Jerusalem), in support of the Palestinian people and their resistance to Israel.

In the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp in this capital, young Palestinians staged a parade attended by leaders and representatives of the Palestinian forces based in Syria, prominent popular figures and senior Syrian officials.

In the march, national flags of the countries of the Axis of Resistance were raised while protesters carried signs with phrases confirming that resistance is the only way to end the Israeli occupation, liberate the land and recover rights.

The speakers stressed that Palestine will continue to be the central cause of all worthy men in the world and reiterated the commitment to the resistance as the only alternative left to realize the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The secretary general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command – Talal Naji, highlighted Syria’s position in support of the Palestinian cause and the firmness of its army and people who achieved victory over terrorism.

The Al-Nairab camp, in the province of Aleppo, in the north of the country, witnessed a massive march as part of the activities for the International Jerusalem Day, in which participants denounced the Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people and the genocide committed in the Gaza Strip.

The commander of the Al-Quds Brigade in Aleppo, Muhammad Al-Saeed, said this celebration has a special symbolism and is gaining importance this year in view of the Zionist enemy’s attempts to falsify the facts.

Other ceremonies for this occasion also took place in the provinces of Latakia and Deir Ezzor, where it was reaffirmed that everyone has the responsibility to protect the holy places and defend Palestinians facing the crime of the century.

Established by the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini, in 1979, World Al-Quds Day, celebrated the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan, has become an annual occasion for solidarity and protest against the Israeli occupation.
