Forbes, who is on a working visit to Luanda, told the press after the meeting with the president in Cidade Alta that both parties discussed issues related to the strengthening of diplomatic and humanitarian cooperation.
The organization’s representative also praised the government’s work for the implementation of policies related to food security, among other actions.
The president of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies also spoke with the Angolan Health Minister, Sílvia Lutucuta, whom she thanked for the support that this portfolio provides to the operation of the organization in the national territory.
She reaffirmed the willingness to continue cooperating in matters such as vaccination campaigns and other areas related to health.
Lutucuta, for his part, pointed out that the Red Cross is a strategic partner of the country and of the sector in particular, due to the cooperation actions in vaccination and attention to vulnerable people, as well as in matters of food security, and follow-up to the families affected by drought and floods.
He pointed out that during the meeting they discussed collaboration in the training of cadres and both parties ratified their willingness to work closely together.
