According to the musician and founder of the event, Arnaldo Rodriguez, there will be a varied and broad cultural program, including the eighth edition of the Music and Youth Symposium with lectures, workshops, practical classes and presentations of young musicians from Ciego de Avila.
He said that performing arts and dance will also have a space in the event, which includes concerts and musical encounters with Cuban performers who defend jazz, rap, rock and hip hop.
Among the participants are the Buena Fe duo, David Blanco, Toques del Río, Laritza Bacallao, Alain Pérez, Telmaris, Isaac Delgado, Arnaldo y su Talisman, Maikel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor, Dayany Gutierrez, Santa Massiel, Vania Borges and others.
The festival, as usual, will celebrate the anniversaries of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) and the Jose Marti Pioneers Organization (Opjm), as well as the 60th anniversary of the Music Recordings and Editions Company (Egrem).
This XXI edition of the Piña Colada will pay tribute to Ciego de Avila musicians Nelson Oney and Eliseo Simon, and to Pablo Menendez and his group Mezcla. It will be held in the municipality of Moron and will extend its activities to communities, schools, workplaces and other social and productive units.
