During a telephone conversation, Abbas explained to his counterpart the latest events in the Israeli campaign in Gaza, where more than 32,000 deaths have been reported since October 7th.

The Wafa news agency reported that Abbas stressed the need to end the war and step up access of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. He also reiterated his categorical rejection of the displacement of any Palestinian citizen, whether in the Strip or the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

The president assured that Gaza is an integral part of Palestine, and therefore it is not possible to accept or address the plans of the Israeli authorities to separate both territories.

On behalf of Egypt, Al-Sisi reaffirmed Cairo’s support for the Palestinian people and their cause, and detailed his Government’s efforts to stop the war against the enclave.

This was the second telephone dialogue between both heads of state since March 13th.

At the beginning of the year, Al-Sisi received Abbas at the Ittihadiya Palace, where they discussed the crisis in Gaza and the escalation of Israel’s violence against the Palestinians.
