Mass evacuation in Moscow due to terrorist threat

Moscow, Mar 25 (Prensa Latina) Russian security evacuated almost a thousand people from the Pirogov National Medical and Surgical Center due to a suspected terrorist threat, the hospital's director, Oleg Karpov, said today.

“The evacuation of patients and staff, who were moved to a safe distance, was carried out”.

Special services are working, Karpov noted.

The information said that indications were aimed at mines installed in the building, ‘they completed the demining process, there were no casualties,’ he said.

The Moscow shopping mall Mosaic was also evacuated after the announcement of an alleged danger to those present.

Also at about 14:30 Moscow time in the Lefortovo City shopping center all visitors and staff were taken outside.

There are no further details yet.

Following the terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall concert on March 22 that killed 137 people, alerts and threats in public places increased.
