During that meeting, it was learned there were preliminarily 26 total house collapses, 148 people were protected in state centers and 762 citizens self-evacuated at the homes of family and friends.
He revealed that among the most affected municipalities are Boyeros, October 10th, Cotorro, San Miguel del Padrón, Arroyo Naranjo, La Lisa and Cerro.
These territories experienced various levels of damage, including interruptions in the power supply, fallen trees and damage to infrastructure, according to the Cubadebate website.
After the meeting with main authorities of the country, the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in the capital, Luis Antonio Torres Iribar, informed the press that the floods exceeded the forecasts and no loss of human life has been reported so far.
The party leader explained some territories of Havana registered an accumulation of over 300 millimeters of rain in the last 24 hours due to severe local storms in western Cuba.
