Cuban president reaffirms people’s support for the Revolution

Havana, Mar 22 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Friday reaffirmed the commitment to continue to strengthen communication with the people, through spaces such as the recently inaugurated forum From the Presidency, without abandoning direct contacts.

On his X profile, the president posted images of his visit on Thursday to El Salvador and Songo La Maya municipalities, in Guantanamo and Santiago de Cuba provinces, respectively, where we received a very special affection that energizes and multiplies the commitment, he said.

“We can provide them, free of charge, to the media and platforms that on Sunday, 3/17, seemed very concerned about the Cuban people,” he wrote in reference to the attempts to create chaos in the country from abroad through social networks, taking advantage of complaints in several locations due to power outages and delays in the distribution of the regulated basic basket. On Thursday, the Cuban head of State inaugurated the new communication space From the Presidency, which will be streamed weekly on the Executive’s YouTube platform to inform and reflect on various issues of the national situation.

The first installment included the participation of Minister of Energy and Mines Vicente de la O Levy, who explained the actions being taken to address the complex energy situation, caused by the intensification of the blockade that the United States has imposed on Cuba for more than six decades.

On the occasion, Díaz-Canel affirmed that the media campaign by Washington and counterrevolutionary groups in southern Florida ratifies the conviction that everything responds to a platform that seeks social unrest in the country to end the Revolution, which has its origins in the 1960 Mallory Memorandum.

The document from the then Deputy Undersecretary of State for Inter-American Affairs recommended inducing economic unrest and material difficulties for the Cuban people, “through all possible means” to reduce support for the revolutionary government and cause a regime change.

Such a document laid down in writing the foundations of its genocidal policy against Cuba, supported by the economic, commercial and financial blockade, which has been intensified to unprecedented levels in the last four years.
