Cubans in Venezuela demand end of US blockade

Caracas, Mar 19 ( Prensa Latina) The Association of Cuban Residents in Venezuela (ACCREVEN) urged to double the efforts to condemn and achieve the immediate end of the United States economic, financial and commercial blockade against the Havana.

The organization recalled that the illegal and arbitrary blockade is the main cause of the deterioration of living conditions in Cuba, since its objective is to limit, hinder the imports of goods, resources and essential raw materials, as well as to block the right to trade freely in international markets, and to have access to financing mechanisms to develop the economy.

“The Government of the United States through its policy of intimidation and blackmail prohibits other governments, international institutions, and foreign companies from any kind of commercial exchange with our country, because they can be fined and sanctioned,” it indicated.

The Association described the US blockade as the most notorious and criminal violation of human rights committed against a country, for the simple reason of wanting to change by force, at the expense of the sacrifice of its people, the social system chosen by all Cubans since the revolutionary triumph in 1959.

The Association demanded the immediate lifting of the blockade and repudiated the media manipulation campaigns used by mass media, on social media and other platforms that respond to US interests, distorting the truth and reality of the events taking place in Cuba.

The organization condemned the subversive propaganda, driven by extreme right-wing groups of Miami-based terrorist and anti-Cuba mafia, to encourage and incite groups of Cubans to create chaos and violence in the island.

“We, the Cuban Residents in Venezuela organized in the ACCREVEN, are the heirs of the ideas of Martí, of Maceo, direct descendants from the legacy of our Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, proud of our history in the struggle against US imperialism, faithful and loyal to our government, our party and always in defense of our Revolution and its historic legacy,” the text concluded.
