The Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Minister was accompanied during the ceremony by part of the Cuban delegation to the recently concluded 21st session of the Cuban-Russian Intergovernmental Commission, and by the ambassador of the Caribbean nation in Moscow, Julio Garmendia, Prensa Latina reported.
The activity served as the conclusion of the important meeting where the strategic nature of the economic, commercial, financial, and cooperation relations between Cuba and the Russian Federation was highlighted.
At the XXI session of the bilateral cooperation mechanism, held in Moscow on Friday, it was noted that more than 100 Russian companies started their work in the Caribbean nation during the last year.
Likewise, the Russian side stressed that it has been giving priority to the issue of ensuring the stable supply of oil, petroleum products, wheat, and fertilizers, a matter that is extremely important for Cuba.
In addition, it was pointed out that the entities of the Eurasian nation interested in investing in the Caribbean country represent various sectors of the Russian economy such as heavy industry, energy, banking, agriculture, information technology, and tourism.
On this occasion, the session of the Cuban-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic-Commercial and Scientific-Technical Collaboration was preceded by meetings of 17 working groups that form the bilateral coordination mechanism.
