Less than three weeks after the beginning of the third stage of the works, the civilian and military contingents sent to the site, have practically completed the excavation tasks and are already pouring concrete in the foundations of the modern buildings of the district.

To speed up the work, functionaries from the ministries and central agencies of the State administration and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions are volunteering to work in the area at night.

The goal is to complete this year another 10,000 apartments in the third stage of the development, which was launched on February 23 in the presence of Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party and chairman of the State Affairs Committee.

As early as 2024, some 10,000 households moved into Hwasong, where a wide, modern avenue, symbolizing the great changes brought about by the Korean-style socialist construction, was also opened.

The construction program in the area allows the delivery of free apartments to 50,000 households.
