Dominican Gov’t speeds up delivery of works before March 20

Santo Domingo, Mar 10 (Prensa Latina) The Dominican Government is speeding up the opening of social works on Sunday, just 10 days previous to the entry into force of article 210 of the electoral regime, which prohibits such acts led by President Luis Abinader.

The president’s agenda begins on Sunday with the opening of the paving of the Navarrete-Montecristi road section, and then the delivery of 300 apartments in Hato del Yaque.

Near midday, the head of State will start the works of the project for the improvement of the drinking water system in the southeast zone of Santiago de los Caballeros province.

On the upcoming March 20th, article 210 of law 20-23 of the electoral regime will be activated, which prevents those acts in the 60 days before the presidential elections, scheduled for May 19th.

On Saturday, Abinader opened in Puerto Plata’s province, an extension of the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA), which will host around 4,000 students per year.

The educational offer will include diploma courses, training, and workshops in the areas of software development, data science, information networks, cybersecurity, multimedia, mechatronics, computer security, and languages.

Meanwhile, the Vice President and Abinader’s running mate in the May elections, Raquel Peña, delivered on Saturday primary schools in the Perla Antillana and in Los Alcarrizos; a police station in San Felipe and a baseball field in El Licey.

The vice president expressed that those infrastructures respond to the Government’s commitment to ensure the right of every child to learn and grow in an adequate educational environment, to boost sports in the communities, and to continue working for a safe country.
