This is an attack on the idea and value of having a public media, with national reach, the organization stated in a statement.
In addition, it condemned the attempts to privatize other public media outlets, the layoffs and the elimination of labor and social rights, within the framework of an inflationary economy, with unprecedented rates of poverty and indigence.
For its part, the Communication Commission of the Patria (Homeland) Institute warned that “President Javier Milei intends to leave this nation without a word of its own.”
This very serious fact violates not only national legislation but also international agreements, the organization added, describing the measure as illegitimate.
In addition, it accused the president of trying to “destroy the people’s right to information, the freedom of expression of their journalism and the sources of work for top-level professionals who developed one of the most important news agencies in the region and the world”.
