These values were reflected in the celebration of the Hotel and Tourism Workers’ Day, on Monday, according to a note published today in Granma newspaper.
The note points out that the event was presided over by the Cuban Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero, where awards were given to workers of the sector. This date, based on the article, was established as a tribute to the birth of the martyr Elpidio Casimiro Sosa González.
The general secretary of the National Union of Hotel and Tourism Workers, Julio Enrique Morales, expressed the commitment to provide quality service and increase income as a contribution to the socioeconomic development of the country.
At the proposal of that union and the National Secretariat of the Cuban Workers’ Central (CTC), 20 entities and facilities with sustained results were granted the status of National Vanguard Collective in 2023.
