The spokesman of that Ministry, Janan Saiq, explained that these people lost their lives in the provinces of Helmand, Kandahar, Herat, Sar-e-Pul, Badakhshan and Jawzjan, and two other people were injured.
The rains also destroyed three residential houses and dozens of livestock were lost. Meanwhile, Public Works Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ashraf Haqshenas reported that Salang and Haji Gak passes in Bamiyan province; Kabul-Ghor and Kabul-Herat highways; Sabzak dam in Badghis province, and several roads were closed to traffic due to the rainfall.
In addition, most of the country’s roads were blocked to traffic due to heavy snowfall and flight operations were temporarily suspended at three airports in the country.
