According to the report, the document was signed in Havana by Rolando González, president of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino), and Abel Prieto, head of the Havana-based prestigious cultural institution, which is celebrating its 65th anniversary.

The purpose of the agreement is to collaborate with the means at their disposal to carry out projects that link institutions from Latin American and Caribbean countries with similar organizations in other regions of the world.

At the ceremony, which was also attended by Cuban Lawmaker Miguel Charbonet, first vice president of Parlatino’s Committee on Education, Culture, Science, Technology and Communication, the parties highlighted the potential of kind of exchange to expand sociocultural relations among brotherly peoples.

Parlatino is the oldest legislative body in the region and is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. Its headquarters is in Panama City and promotes the integration and harmonization of laws for the benefit of the peoples of 23 member countries, the press release pointed out.
