The senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official underlined the political organization’s determination to resolve this issue and addressed the plans adopted by the Central Committee Party in this regard.
Wang highlighted the progress in cross-strait relations in 2023, as well as the solidification and expansion of the international community’s commitment to the one-China principle.
“This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and is a crucial year for achieving the goals and tasks set out in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025),” he said.
He also called for advancing peaceful development of ties with Taiwan, expanding exchanges and cooperation in various areas, deepening cross-strait integrated development, and promoting Chinese culture to forge closer ties.
On the other hand, he urged to reject any manifestation of separatism, as well as the interference of external forces in the affairs of the island.
