The participants will also denounce the freezing of salaries and social plans.
Among the organizations that will be represented are the Union of Workers of the Popular Economy (UTEP), the Piquetera Unit, the Front of Organizations in Struggle (FOL), Libres del Sur, the Classist and Combative Current, the Coordinator for Social Change and the Socialist Workers Movement.
According to the organizations, rallies are planned at access points to the capital, in front of the offices of the Secretary of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello, and in several provinces.
“We are in a critical situation. The Government is carrying out a social crime against millions of working families who do not have a plate of food. Its position is intransigent, it abandons the poor and excludes workers,” FOL member Marianela Navarro told the Télam news agency. “44 thousand soup kitchens, which social movements have supported for two decades, are waiting for the State and Pettovello to deliver food,” she added.
For his part, head of UTEP Alejandro Gramajo asserted that Argentina is experiencing “a social emergency and families are dying of hunger. We cannot allow this,” he said, and highlighted the unity of the organizations in the struggle.
