Participants in the mobilization will condemn the cuts in resources allocated for thousands of soup kitchens that serve vulnerable people.
“The emergency worsens the daily livelihood of the inhabitants of popular neighborhoods. We have already held numerous rallies to obtain responses from the Government, who froze the delivery of food to canteens and picnic areas,” says a statement from Somos Barrios de Pie.
“Months ago we denounced the growth of hunger, but we did not perceive any willingness to build dialogue and seek solutions for those who are going through this delicate situation,” it added about several demonstrations condemning the lack of support for the citizens most in need.
Due to the government’s inaction protests were carried out in front of the Ministry of Human Capital, the Libertador hotel (where the president Javier Milei was staying), and the presidential residence of Olivos, among other places.
“Now we will go to Economy, to see if Caputo decides to give answers instead of waiting for people to suffer in silence. It cannot be adjusted with hunger!”, the statement concludes.
