Speaking about Friday´s opening of the 24th National Meeting of the Coordinator based in the Chiriqui city of Boquete, Dr. Pardo said that various activities in 2023 were aimed at producers, entrepreneurs, educators and workers in general.
Dr. Pardo said in an exclusive interview with Prensa Latina that the idea of this effort and challenge is to promote and make known the truth about what is really happening in Cuba, a reality that is being manipulated by the big media and the enemies of the Cuban Revolution Triumph.
According to Dr. Pardo, several cultural and patriotic activities have been carried out including the recent commemoration at the Autonomous University of Chiriqui of Cuban National Hero José Martí´s 171st birthday.
The information we convey about Cuba, he added, cannot ignore the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for over 60 years.
Regarding motivations behind all such initiatives, Dr. Pardo commented they are based on that maxim that guides Cubans who do not give what they have to spare, but share what they have; and an example, he added, is the unconditional collaboration with Panama in key areas such as education and health.
In this regard, Dr. Pardo praised the presence of members of the Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade in 2020 and 2021 in Chiriqui, Panama City and in La Chorrera, who at the height of the Covid-19 and ahead of the near collapse of the local health system, put their shoulder and helped save lives.
Based on internationalism, he said, also in the field of education, the Cuban method Yo sí puedo (Yes, I can) has allowed illiterate people from vulnerable sectors and those with fewer resources to learn to read and write.
Regarding the 24th National Solidarity Meeting, which will last until tomorrow, Saturday, Dr. Pardo said that one of its purposes is to design ways to attract more young people and also Panamanian graduates in Cuban educational centers and not only in the field of health, another challenge of solidarity.
The meeting, according to what was reported, will be held at the Franciscan Seminary, with the presence of representatives from all the Isthmian country, who will also demand Washington to remove Cuba from a spurious list of nations sponsoring terrorism.
