Brazil brings more than six thousand books to Cuban Literary Fair

Havana, Feb 13 (Prensa Latina) Brazil, guest of honor at the 32nd Havana International Book Fair, from February 15 to 25, will bring more than six thousand texts to the event, according to its ambassador to Cuba, Christian Vargas.

At a recent press conference, the diplomat gave details of his country’s participation in the book fair and commented that the titles were published in countries like Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico, so they will be in Spanish, including children’s classics.

Vargas said he intends to make donations to various Cuban academic and teaching institutions and also to ease the population’s access to the books.

He anticipated that the outstanding writer Conceicao Evaristo, who is almost 80 years old, would travel to Havana especially to be at the Fair.

He highlighted the attendance, as usual, of Frei Betto, a public figure admired in Brazil and on the island, an award-winning author with 74 books published, who says that the format of his heart is the map of Cuba.

The Brazilian ambassador mentioned that other relevant and representative names of the best of the current literature of his nation will be present at the 32nd edition of the literary fair.
