Russia´s economy growth exceeded world average, claims Putin

Moscow, Feb 12 (Prensa Latina) Russia's economy growth in 2023 turned out to be higher than the world average rates and the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) surged by 3.6%, President Vladimir Putin said Monday.

President Putin, who opened a meeting on economic issues, said that Russia’s 2023 economic growth turned out to be above forecasts.

The Russian leader also stated that this indicator is global 3% average, while economies of developed countries are going up at 1.5% average rate.

Plus, Putin stated that the dynamics reached has been based on the internal capacities of the country’s economy. In this regard, he detailed that the country´s 2023 industrial production jumped to 3.5%, while manufacturing production increased by 7.5%.

“Double-digit growth rates were reported in such divisions as computers, aircraft, ships, furniture, electrical equipment and motor vehicles manufacturing,” Putin added.

For instance, computers and peripherals added 32.8%, vehicles (mainly aviation equipment and shipbuilding) grew by 25.5% furniture added 20.7%.

In turn, leather and leather goods increased by 12.3%, while motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers grew by over 13.6%.
