The Gaza conflict has affected thousands of people sheltering in those facilities since the outbreak of hostilities in the Gaza Strip, WHO spokesperson Tarik Jasarevic assured at a press conference.
The UN official referred that the Israeli aggression has so far destroyed 98 health centers, 27 of which were badly ravaged, in addition to 90 ambulances, 50 of which were totaled.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs posted in its latest update that heavier fighting broke out in Khan Younis in southern Gaza on Thursday, with shelling and heavy artillery fire.
It further reported that Nasser Hospital and Al Amal Hospital, under siege for the past 17 days, have been particularly affected by violence that is driving thousands of Gazans out of the city south to Rafah.
The UN Office disclosed reports from the Gaza health authority of continued “allegations of sniper fire in the vicinity of Nasser Hospital” and the Israeli army’s refusal to allow ambulances and access to the facilities.
