Colección Sur Editores to honor Palestine at Cuban Book Fair

Havana, Feb 8 (Prensa Latina) Colección Sur Editores publishing agency, described as a constant voice for peace among nations, will pay tribute to Palestine in its program of activities during the 32nd Havana International Book Fair.

The literary fair will take place from February 15 to 25 in Havana.

As part of its activities, the Colección Sur Editores will open the International Poetry Festival “Word of the World” on February 17, with speeches by Tito Alvarado, honorary president of Proyecto Cultural Sur, and Murad Al-Sudani, Colección Sur Editores General Secretary of the Palestinian Writers’ Union.

Colección Sur Editores of the Cuba Poetry Cultural Center, directed by poet Alex Pausides, integrates resonant and lasting voices in favor of world peace and is a leading catalyst to improve humanity.

On February 19, the ALBA Culture Center in Havana will host the keynote speech “Ideas de Izquierda en el Contexto Europeo” (Leftist Ideas in the European Context) by Spanish intellectual Miguel Manzanera, followed by a reading of Palestinian poetry by Hanan Awwad, Abdel Nasser H.A. Alaraj, and Murad Al-Sudani.

On February 20, Colección Sur Editores will invite Palestinian intellectuals Hanan Awwad, Murad Al-Sudani, and Abdel Nasser H.A. Alaraj to attend an activity in the gardens of the National Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC).

A dance group, Palestinian students living in Cuba, and students from the Fernando Alonso Ballet School, will also participate in the tribute to Palestine.

Poets and intellectuals Inmaculada García and Miguel Manzanera (Spain), Mario Alberto Nájera (Mexico), and Tito Alvarado (Chile) will be included.

Cuban prominent figures, including Miguel Barnet, Nancy Morejón, Waldo Leyva, Alex Pausides, Basilia Papastamatíu, Alberto Marrero, Julio César Sánchez, Fidel Antonio Orta, Karel Leyva, and Augusto Blanca, will attend the event.
