According to China´s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), the Deputy Minister Wang Shouwen expressed his deep concern about Washington’s restrictions on semiconductors and telecom. services, while urging for a fair treatment to Chinese companies based in the United States.
Shouwen also reiterated his country´s willingness to work with the U.S. to roll out the consensus reached at the San Francisco Presidential Summit past November 2023.
Wang also called for taking advantage of the China-U.S. Business Working Group role to expand cooperation, manage differences and create favorable conditions for bilateral cooperation.
China’s Ministry of Finance, on the other hand, also reported that the 3rd Meeting of the China-U.S. Economic Working Group was held here from February 5 to 6.
Plus, China expressed its deep concern over U.S. tariffs, investment restrictions and sanctions against national firms.
According to the U.S. Treasury Department, Washington officials also expressed concerns about China’s industrial policy practices and overcapacity, as well as the resulting impact on workers and businesses in the northern nation.
