South Korea and Saudi Arabia expand defense cooperation

Seoul, Feb 5 (Prensa Latina) South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik met with Saudi Arabia's Defense and National Guard ministers on Monday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral ties in the sector. The South Korean Defense Ministry noted in a statement that Shin met separately with Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman Al Saud and National Guard Minister Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Riyadh as part of his official visit to the Arab kingdom.

The source stated that during the talks held on the sidelines of the World Defense Show, the two parts discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in defense and the defense industry.

Shin is on a three-nation tour in the Middle East that took him to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia; the minister arrived in Qatar on Monday for his final stop on the trip.
