The temperature will be between 23 and 24 degrees Celsius, well below the 33 and 37 recorded in recent days, said specialist Yael Szewkis.
Relative humidity is almost one hundred percent and this is an important factor in preventing the spread of the flames, explained Szewkis on national television.
During the day a weak wind is expected from the south-southwest, close to 20 kilometers per hour, with gusts of up to 40.
Unfortunately in the afternoon the speed may increase to over 30 kilometers per hour and encourage flaming particles to travel longer distances, Szawkis warned.
The National Disaster Prevention and Response Service is maintaining 10 red alerts for fires in the regions of Valparaíso, O’Higgins, El Maule, Los Lagos and La Araucanía.
It was also reported that two suspects were arrested for starting the fire in the Botanical Garden of Viña del Mar, where four people died and more than a thousand species of endangered native trees were destroyed.
