Sales to Brazil grew 26 percent in the year-on-year comparison according to last January’s placements.
Uruguay XXI reported that Brazilian requests represented 22 percent of total exports from this country in the first month of the year, for a value of US$ 173 million.
Exports of malt, vehicles, beef and rice stood out.
On the other hand, Uruguayan sales of dairy products were lower, with a 13% decrease.
China was the second largest trading partner, with 13 percent of the total (US$100 million).
Chinese purchases fell six percent in the year-on-year comparison.
