Taliban denies presence of terrorists in Afghanistan

Kabul, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) The spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban government), Zabiullah Mujahid, assured on Monday that the extremist organization Islamic State (IS) is no longer a threat to the country.

The Daesh (IS) is not a threat to Afghanistan and the Islamic Emirate forces have strengthened security across the borders, the spokesman said in response to international press reports on the subject.

The Indian newspaper Sunday Guardian quoted senior members of the extremist Pakistani Taliban Movement (Tehrik Taliban Pakistan) who explained the reasons for the recent clashes along the Durand Line, the de facto border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

On January 20, the Pakistan Army attempted to push Daesh members into Afghanistan.

It was to pursue this objective that its armed forces stirred up the border dispute, so that IS troops could enter Afghanistan while Afghan guards were facing their very well-equipped neighbors, Tehrik Taliban Pakistan revealed to the Sunday Guardian.

The borders of the countries are safeguarded.

Our security forces are paying attention to any kind of danger, and we do not believe there is Daesh in Afghanistan, the Islamic Emirate spokesman stressed.
