Bridges of Love for Cuba unites solidarity wills in Bolivia

La Paz, Jan 28 (Prensa Latina) Dozens of Bolivians from several leftist forces and Cuban residents in Santa Cruz and La Paz on Sunday expressed their repudiation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba.

Gathered at Plaza José Martí, in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, and in San Francisco, in downtown La Paz, they also demanded Cuba’s removal from the State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list, which is arbitrarily and unilaterally made by the Government of the United States.

“Thank you, Bolivia, for the unconditional support against the blockade. Together we are more in this fight. Bridges of Love Day,” Internet users from the Félix Varela Association of Cuban Residents in the Santa Cruz department wrote in gratitude for the commitment of those who meet here every last Sunday of the month “for an independent and prosperous Cuba.”

In communication via Internet with Prensa Latina, they explained that the Bolivian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba in this department invariably convenes monthly Bridges of Love and the members of the Félix Varela Association join them.

In La Paz, Plaza Mayor de San Francisco brought together graduates from the Latin American School of Medicine, members of the Guevarist Movement of Bolivia/ELN, representatives of the Communist Party of Bolivia and its youth organization, and activists from the Bolivian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba-La Paz.

“We started these mobilizations in Santa Cruz more than a year ago and by coming to work in La Paz we maintained this solidarity project,” Dr. Edwin Grimaldo Jordán, leader of these mobilizations, said in an interview with Prensa Latina in Plaza San Francisco.

He explained that the main objective is the demand the end of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba and the elimination of Cuba from the unilateral and spurious list of countries that sponsor terrorism.

“However, on the 171st birthday of the National Hero and the hero of Cuba’s independence, on January 28, we pay tribute to him,” Grimaldo stressed, “and at the same time we express our solidarity with the Palestinian people and with the Argentine protesters who are rejecting the shock therapies imposed by extremist neoliberal President Javier Milei.”
