Cuba backs PARLATINO’s statement on Latin America and Caribbean

Havana, Jan 28 (Prensa Latina) Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez expressed Cuba's support for the PARLATINO's statement that which ratifies the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace.

On his X account, Rodríguez stressed that Cuba is fully committed to the peaceful resolution of disputes and regional and international peace.

The Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (PARLATINO)’s statement recalls that the peace proclamation was approved in Havana on January 28 and 29, 2014, during the 2nd Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

That integration mechanism, founded in 2011, ratified the purposes and principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter and International Law.

It recognizes that “integration strengthens the vision of a just international order, affirmed in law and a culture of peace, which excludes the use of force and non-legitimate means of defense, including weapons of mass destruction and, particularly, nuclear weapons,” the regional legislature stated in a post.
