The Festival has an attractive program in Havana and Santiago de Cuba provinces, until January 28 with great players of the genre among nationals and foreigners.
Herrera will perform with the Areíto Jazz Band directed by Emilio Vega, and Cuban musicians Roberto Fonseca, Alexander Abreu, Idania Valdés, El Noro, and Polito Ibáñez.
Osiris Valdés, Aldo López Gavilán, Rodrigo García, Jorge Luis Pacheco, Emilio Morales, and Yasek Manzano will also participate.
Under the motto “Pa’que flujazz a nuestro ritmo,” renowned Cuban musicians, 66 international groups, and more than 150 artists from 21 countries, including 92 US musicians, are attending this Festival. An estimated 258 concerts are expected during the event.
With the visual cover of Bobby Carcassés, founder of Jazz Plaza and 2012 National Music Award, the Festival also pays tribute to other musicians such as Miguelito Cuní and César “Pupy” Pedroso.
